It is my great pleasure to serve as the Founding Director of Trinity Spiritual Center – a co-creation by parishioners and non-parishioners in the local community who are eager to experience the authentic connection that occurs when people allow themselves to be led by grace.

There is a deep hunger for an expanded set of opportunities to encounter the divine among us, regardless of whether we identify with traditional forms of religion or not.  We seek community, meaning, and a sense of higher purpose in a world that seems increasingly disconnected and unjust.  We yearn for kindred spirits to share our experience.

It is my hope that you find a spiritual home with us as we gather to explore both ancient wisdom and contemporary issues and as we celebrate the possibilities inherent in being present as a beloved community in person, online and in nature.

We look forward to you joining us whenever and wherever the Spirit moves you.

The Spirit Moves Us

Trinity Spiritual Center is the culmination of a multi-year planning process at Trinity Episcopal Church Southport, CT, whose leaders wanted to support individuals in the Greater Fairfield County and beyond who are looking for new ways of “doing church.”

Research shows that 9 out of 10 of Americans believe in God or a higher purpose, but increasingly we identify as spiritual but non-religious, a number that is growing rapidly, especially among younger demographics.  Recognizing that the times required a new, bold vision of what a twenty-first century parish might offer, we listened deeply to understand what people are looking for.

What we heard over and over again is that people wanted a “place” where all could feel welcome and connect regardless of their belief systems, as they searched for new (and old) ways to penetrate the mysteries of life.  So, Trinity decided to create a “space” in its parish hall and online where all could gather to explore the many ways in which grace calls us to be present and active in the world.

We hope that you will find our events intriguing, inspiring, delightful and uplifting, and  that in the end we might all share more fully in the wonder and awe that unites us.
