A Conversation with Michael Hebb
Let’s Talk about Death (over Dinner)
If you’ve read Atul Gawande’s Being Mortal, and Paul Kalanithi’s When Breath Becomes Air, you are going to love Michael Hebb.
Dying never sounded so good.
Michael Hebb is an innovative and influential cultural figure, entrepreneur and activist, described by the New York Times as an “underground restaurateur, impresario and provocateur.” He believes that the dinner table is one of the most effective and overlooked vehicles for changing the world.
At Trinity Spiritual Center, Michael will offer keen practical advice on how to talk about death —not just at the dinner table, but anywhere. He will share prompts to use as conversation starters, ranging from the spiritual to the practical, from analytical to downright funny and surprising. By transforming the most difficult conversations into an opportunity, they become celebratory and meaningful ways that not only can change the way we die, but the way we live.
Michael and Trinity Spiritual Center will host a “Let’s Talk about Death” over dinner on Saturday and an end-of-day reception, applying the learning from this workshop.
